If this is your first trip and you only have three days, here’s how we’d spend it — enough to see the highlights without spending the whole trip in the car.
Day 1: Arrive and ease in
Check-in is 4:00 PM, so plan for a relaxed first evening. Stock the fridge, get settled, and keep dinner simple and close — see our restaurant guide for a few easy picks a short drive from the cabin. Save the big attractions for tomorrow, when you’ll have a full day to use.
Day 2: The big attraction day
Pick one anchor for the day — Dollywood if you want rides and live music, or Ripley’s Aquarium and The Island if your group skews younger. Either way, plan to be out the door early and expect a full day; see our attractions guide for the full rundown. If rain is in the forecast, swap in our rainy day guide instead.
Day 3: Choose your adventure
Your last full day is the flexible one. If your group likes to move, spend the morning on an easy hike to Laurel Falls or the dog-friendly Gatlinburg Trail (our hiking guide has the details). If you’d rather stay in the car and take in the views, drive the Cades Cove Loop or the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail instead (see our scenic drives guide). Traveling with a dog? Our pet-friendly guide covers trails and parks that welcome them. Save an hour in the afternoon for Tanger Outlets or the Arts & Crafts Community if anyone wants to shop — both are covered in our shopping guide.
Evening: back to the cabin
Every night ends the same way regardless of which day it is — back at the cabin, hot tub going, with nowhere else to be. That’s the whole point of staying in Sevierville instead of right on the Parkway.
