Pet-Friendly Things to Do Near Your Cabin

Bright Sky Lodge and Stargazer Lodge both welcome your dog — and there’s genuinely more to do with a pet here than most mountain destinations. Here’s where locals actually take their dogs.

Gatlinburg Trail

Covered in our hiking guide too, but worth repeating here: this flat, easy 1.9-mile trail is one of only two trails in the entire national park where dogs are allowed on a leash. A genuinely rare chance to hike an official Smokies trail with your dog beside you.

Sevierville’s Unleashed Dog Park

A proper off-leash dog park with separate areas for small and large breeds, shaded seating, agility equipment, and water stations. A good stop if your dog just needs to run.

Patriot Park (Pigeon Forge)

A half-mile walking trail along the Little Pigeon River with a big open grassy area — easy, flat, and a nice option for a slower evening walk.

Burchfiel Grove & the Memorial Greenway (Sevierville)

A paved, pet-friendly path stretching 2.2 miles along the West Fork of the Little Pigeon River, right in downtown Sevierville — close enough for a quick walk without planning a whole outing around it.

Sugarlands Distilling Company

One of the few spots downtown where your dog is welcome inside, with a back porch to relax on while you sample a tasting.

Bring documentation for your pet at check-in, and let us know ahead of time what they’re like — full details are in our FAQ.
