Shopping isn’t usually the headline of a Smokies trip, but two spots here are genuinely worth an afternoon — and one of them is close enough to walk to from a Sevierville cabin.
Tanger Outlets Sevierville
Over 100 brand-name outlet stores — Nike, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and more — right on the Parkway in Sevierville. Because it’s in the same town as our cabins, it’s the easiest stop to fit in on an arrival or departure day without eating into your sightseeing time.
Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community
An 8-mile loop just outside Gatlinburg and the largest group of independent working artisans in North America — over 100 shops and studios, many of them running since the community was founded in 1937. You can watch potters, woodworkers, and glassblowers at work and buy straight from the maker. Start early and set aside at least 3-4 hours; it’s easy to lose track of time here. Bring cash — some of the smaller studios don’t take cards.
The Village Shops (Gatlinburg)
A small, European-style courtyard of boutiques and artisan goods right in downtown Gatlinburg — a nice, walkable stop to pair with dinner.
Mountain Mall & Baskins Square
Two more central Gatlinburg options if you want souvenirs and local shops without planning a special trip around it — both are already on the main strip you’ll be walking anyway.
All of these are a short drive from every Bright Sky Lodges cabin, and Tanger Outlets is close enough to fit in on your way in or out.
